cHASTE

“A beautiful and chaste woman is the perfect workmanship of God, and the true glory of
angels, the rare miracle of earth, and the sole wonder of the world.”—Georg Hermes

elusive.
seclusive.

conclusively delusive.
           herself she kept,
           while suitors wept
for treasure so exclusive.

waste
haste,

to circumvent the mad chase.
          many a mile
          to catch her smile,
of fervour so effusive.

chased
cHASTE.

deflowered by no scant haste.
          virginity
          serenity,

where blazes lust, possessive.

the ransom
so handsome,

i struggle yet to fathom
          the evidence
          of eloquence
that nestles in her bosom.

defiled not
reviled not,

her virtues wear no inkblot.
          yet to her place
          must i make haste.
to lose this race...i think not.
