Around 1000 Miles

You're strange

So far, so close
My love, my hope
Believing you'll be
Here with me
One day, far away
In two years, we'll say
So far, so close
Feels strange, like home

You feel like ice after the Sahara
You feel like rain coming from afar, a
Simple word of confession
Behind a veil of compassion
Anonymous action
Awaiting reaction

Such strong words have never flown
Or at least, not of my own
Such strong heartstrings, made to break
But tell me, love, can you keep them safe?
My soul, I call you
Your soul, I call to
I guessed what you'd feel
You confirmed that it's real

I ensured you had known
That I sit on a throne
Of self love and respect, of vengeance and tone
But you promised that you'd not leave me alone
I'm breaking my prose
My actions do show
You make me feel something not even I know
But I love you so

One thousand miles
Billions of trials
Yet you still remain
The favored decor in my brain
My mind travels far when you show me the snow
I couldn't even dare to dream of this, no
Where I am is sand, where you'd rather be
You hate the cold, that's why you're not me
