Reconnaissance

spiraling from far beyond
through places where we once belonged
moving swiftly through the night
faster than the speed of light

approaching System B 1-3
Earth and Moon, we've come to see
what remains of what was made
with Ice Age ending when we stayed

civilization's cyclic turns
human species' hopes and yearns -
now on the edge of knowing space
is filled with life in every place

stars are conscious, planets too
unseen beings come in view
all are saddened by mankind
still not ready in this time

with pyramids in sad decay
too slowly changing DNA
the voice of masters still ignored
and the poverty of endless war...

moving swiftly through the night
faster than the speed of light
through places where we once belonged
spiraling back to far beyond
