Very heart aching tribute. To me, the statue is a symbol of who she was and what she accomplished; a solidly pleasant reminder to offset the decline. You always rise to the occasion when it comes to writing about friends and family - perhaps someday you will publish a book dedicated to them all? Well done!

My great-grandma and grandma's relationship wasn't good, but my grandma still had a heart and tried to assist anyway she could. Now that I'm older, I think I understand the grief. I have several stories, I have considered a whole book, but we'll see. My grandma is 92 and she remembers things with such vivid detail, I'm always entranced by her story telling.
