The Madman (Short Story I Wrote for English)

As the cold wind whispers in our ears, Daisy, Courtney, Ethan, Tanner, Cody, Da’sean, Tommai, and I all get ready to do the unspeakable. We were going to go into a haunted house. The place where is said that the most demented, satanic person torments the innocent. “You go first man. I aint goin’ into no damn haunted house alone,” Da’sean says. Bad enough though, we didn't know what we were getting ourselves into.
We walk in the house the back way, so we start in the garage. The odor of mold and rust attack us as if they were cops and us as fugitives. We held our breath as long as we could while we looked through the garage. The wall paper is peeling off as if to say “free me!” the ground has dark red spots and this pungent smell; Not from the mold and rust, but something else. “Ay you guys, you know them red spots, yea they blood,” I say. “Girl, quit playin’,” Cody said as we walked out. Little did he know that those may be his last words.
Next was the kitchen. Walking around, I saw blood splattered on the walls when I noticed that one wall in particular had blood in the shape of a face with eyes glaring at me. I jump back, accidentally hitting Daisy. As a reaction, Daisy jumped back and steps on a knife with blood as fresh as cookies coming out the oven. We look at each other worriedly and right then we noticed that Courtney, Tommai, Ethan, and Da’sean have all disappeared. We couldn’t figure out what to do until we heard faint screaming from upstairs. We had to find them.
We start running upstairs when out of nowhere, Cody hits a bad stair and falls into the basement. He screams in pain as his blood splatters on Daisy, Tanner, and I. Daisy shrieks in fear and won’t move as if she’s paralyzed. Tanner and I push her up stairs and when we get to the top, Daisy turns back and falls. She just falls down the stairs and breaks her neck and dies. Tanner and I know we have to keep going so we keep running. We hear a muffled scream from a room. We walk closer seeing and through the cracked door, we see Tommai and Courtney tied up to a chair with their mouths’ duck taped. Out of nowhere, a madman pull out a katana and before he strikes, Courtney and Tommai give us a look we have never seen before: intimidation. Just then slice! Their heads get cut off. The madman looks up, straight at Tanner and me and as a reaction, we run to the closest room: the closet. When in there, something hits Tanner and puts blood on his shirt. After a while, we noticed that the blood came from Da’sean and Ethan, jaws broken, and eyelids ripped off with their blood running down them in a trail. We had to find a way out; Now.
We ran into another room to try to find some exit out of this hellhole. Tanner tried to break open the window as I went downstairs to find ether something we could use or an exit. The door was no use because as I saw behind the wall, the madman was their… waiting for us. I grab some knives and I head upstairs when something grab holds of my foot. It was Cody with cuts from his foot to head losing blood steadily. I grab his hand to try to pull him up when Mr. Maniac is walking step by step up the stairs. He throws a knife and a katana. The knife hits my wrist, but not deep enough to cut my vein (thankfully), and the katana cuts Cody’s arm off leaving his hand interlocked in with mine. Finally getting Cody’s hand out of mine, I ran upstairs to warn Tanner about the madman, but when I got up there, Tanner was in some contraption. His face was getting peeled off as some man was cutting off his eyelids and some other man is ripping his limbs and breaking them in front of Tanner. After the man breaks his limbs, he takes out the meat and bone itself, leaving just flaccid skin left and sewing them back on him. As I was trying to do something about this misfortune, someone cut my leg and stabbed my stomach, leaving me shocked and petrified.
I scream in excruciating pain and I turned around and stabbed him back. No use. I try to run as fast as I could to get away. I don’t know what’s worse; the fact he’s walking to get me or the fact that as he is walking, he’s catching up. He growled, “There’s no way out… I’ll get you tonight.” He smirks a deadly smirk. I guess he was trying to scare me. Well, it worked if I wasn’t scared before. I run into a room think I need a trap. I need something to kill the madman. Problem is, anything I could use for a trap was occupied by madman’s minions. I run downstairs, madman nowhere in sight, and find a towel and medical wrap. I wipe the blood off my leg and wrap the wrap around it to stop some of the blood. It wasn’t very effective but it had to do for now. I found some floss and as bad as it is, I needed it. I found a needle, wrapped the floss through it, and then started to sew my stomach back. Getting the needle through wasn’t the hard part . The hard part was knowing one slip can damage the inside of me if I puncture anything. The mint from the floss was burning and stinging like nothing before. Thirty minutes of agonizing pain, I got it double stitched with medical wrap around it, suddenly, I heard a creak. The madman was watching me. He laughed a terrible laugh; a laugh that tells me that my time of extinction was here. I step back to try to get away from him when I notice he had something that I need: the door key. I run upstairs into a room and he follows. I block the door before he was able to make it in and I start pacing while thinking and thinking while pacing. He’s banging on the door when I notice he left his katana in here. What an idiot, he is. I grab it and unlock the door and I stabbed him. How come when I try to stab these people, nothing works? He laughs and says “padded clothing does a charm!” I push him out of angst and anger and he hits his head on the bannister and falls down the stairs. As i promised Daisy, I grab Tanner’s limp body, and grab a chair and put it under the door the minions were in to restrict them from leaving. I head downstairs and put Tanner in a wheelchair that must’ve been moved because it was in the garage. I grab for the madman’s keys and as I do, he twitches, alarming me that he is still alive. I need to get the boards off the door before actually escaping. I rip as much as I could in a limited amount of time. I got four out of thirteen boards, leaving me space to get Tanner and me through. I stretch my hand up between the boards and door and unlock the door. I threw Tanner out and I climbed out, sighing in relief. Outside at last!  I walk to a well and I dropped Tanner in as I promised Daisy. I realized that the well was filled with acid as I started smelling the burning flesh and hear the fizzing of his skin. I said farewell to the house I almost died in and to all of my friends who had died in there that evening. I turn and walk away. Just then, a knife is in my back. I tremble and stumbled on the ground. Madman came up, looked at me and said “ I’ll see you in Hell.” He stabbed me once more and as I was almost gone from this world, I noticed that madman was someone I knew. I couldn’t figure out whom though. Now you may be wondering how I’m telling you this if I’m dead. The real question is: when will he be after you?
