In Silence
My soul cried today
And it wasn't just the chill that shook me
As it will on a winters day and cold
But deeper reached the breaching cry
Which rent where no words echo
And peace – if peace I’ve known of late
Died behind the stoic face
That masks the pain my hell bequeaths
And there was naught to do but die
On yet again another day
In silence
The only witness – mine
When souls are sundered
The truest tears
Are hidden from the world outside
And my soul cried today
A wrenching sob
And no one heard a thing
And it wasn't just the chill that shook me
As it will on a winters day and cold
But deeper reached the breaching cry
Which rent where no words echo
And peace – if peace I’ve known of late
Died behind the stoic face
That masks the pain my hell bequeaths
And there was naught to do but die
On yet again another day
In silence
The only witness – mine
When souls are sundered
The truest tears
Are hidden from the world outside
And my soul cried today
A wrenching sob
And no one heard a thing
