You were gone from me
Out of my mind
Maybe not entirely
But enough that I was free
To grow a new
And different me
Then you showed up
Not casually
Spoke of what you
Want to be
In my life

Now my head spins incessantly
Cannot see
What’s in front of me
Trapped in the past’s fantasy
