I like the contrast between the title of the poem, and line I.  It gives me the feeling of appearances and internal meaning, or codes and meanings, which was a subtle allusion to where the poem would go.

...  A marvel of perspective as symbolism.

That's how heavy and dark the emotion feels. Metaphorical or not, this is pretty astounding.
Hope it got better after a while.
