Sunrise (a work in progress)
Beautiful sunrise
How happy you make me
I could turn around and share you with my companion
Say “oh my, isn’t that pretty?”
Even though I can tell by her open draw bridge, that she sees what I do
So I stay silent,
Pretending that the only reason you rose today was to lighten my eyes
And pull them away from the dark side of the moon
You are here for nobody else
Such a selfish desire: having you to myself
I am sure it must lead to the loss of heaven’s wonders
Is it fair to assume it is wrong to keep the picture of glorious colors in the vault of your heart
And lend it to no one?
Even more wrong it seems it would be
To say something
To take away another’s hope that the sunrise is theirs
And theirs alone
