An Hour Later
Does love fall far from the gallows?
Will the strings of a quartet escort the dead to heaven?
While a lifeless face stares out the window of the morning doesn't love survive in the moment of surrender?
Are the failings of man’s flesh the sins of mankind?
Aren't the sins of mankind the triumph of conquest?
I used to know the difference.
Will you sing me a lullaby of the angels in my time of death as the light within my soul soars into the center of death itself.
Don't think me poor or sad as I pass into the night of darkness.
I am forever.
