Flickering
I feel your presence
As if touching a different dimension
Timeless
Like a tongue of flame
A wave of heat that can't be held
Flickering magic
As I stare into you
You
Who have yet to shed the seed of dreams
Break the earth and feel the warmth
To blossom bedewed
All fragrance and beauty spelled
Dreamt but not yet held
I feel your presence here
I feel you
As a whisper feels near
You
Who sometimes seems half glimpsed
As if from the corner of my eye
Found in a touch of beauty unremarked before
In the ordinary day to day
So the ethereal you eludes
As with the stilling pause
When comes a cooling breeze
Which causes to look beyond the mark
Into distances unseen
For there's a knowing
Outside the ebb and flow of time
Like the thought which stays the mind to linger
If but a moment more
Not quite sure
Or perhaps chanced voice
When no one else is near
The faint fragrance of spring in wintertime
So's the longing which finds you here
How else can I define you
Whispered by the prophetess of love
As if touching a different dimension
Timeless
Like a tongue of flame
A wave of heat that can't be held
Flickering magic
As I stare into you
You
Who have yet to shed the seed of dreams
Break the earth and feel the warmth
To blossom bedewed
All fragrance and beauty spelled
Dreamt but not yet held
I feel your presence here
I feel you
As a whisper feels near
You
Who sometimes seems half glimpsed
As if from the corner of my eye
Found in a touch of beauty unremarked before
In the ordinary day to day
So the ethereal you eludes
As with the stilling pause
When comes a cooling breeze
Which causes to look beyond the mark
Into distances unseen
For there's a knowing
Outside the ebb and flow of time
Like the thought which stays the mind to linger
If but a moment more
