14 syllables, so not a haiku, I think--
The irony and tone & topic--a wry take on human nature--is senryu.
Interesting point about senryu & haiku--they're one line poems in Japanese. Also, in Japanese, what we call "syllables" are frequently silent. For example, the word "nihonjin," pronounce knee-hon-jean is counted as 5 syllables.
