A Moment
Soft light
Streaming through the blinds
Bathing all in a hazy warmth
Just enough golden highlights in your hair
To whisper
Sometimes
There's angels down here
Pulled up on the floor beside your chair
Head laid back
Fading into the fade of your jeans
Your fingers playing
Soft raking my hair as you hum
Unloading the day in the nearness of you
No words
Or few
Just needing you
Eyes closed, all else forgotten
As you lean down and kiss my brow
What I'd give for such a quiet hour
To lay the world by
At times I'm wearied so
And just wish the quiet shelter of your arms
Your heart
To talk or no
Perhaps just touch
And let all else go
Sometimes I need a moment
Streaming through the blinds
Bathing all in a hazy warmth
Just enough golden highlights in your hair
To whisper
Sometimes
There's angels down here
Pulled up on the floor beside your chair
Head laid back
Fading into the fade of your jeans
Your fingers playing
Soft raking my hair as you hum
Unloading the day in the nearness of you
No words
Or few
Just needing you
Eyes closed, all else forgotten
As you lean down and kiss my brow
What I'd give for such a quiet hour
To lay the world by
At times I'm wearied so
And just wish the quiet shelter of your arms
Your heart
To talk or no
Perhaps just touch
And let all else go
Sometimes I need a moment
