Shadows

shadows in a flickering light
cast by candles late at night
dancing here and there and then
in this moment, in this when

thinking thoughts to fade away
like the last light of the day
as consciousness into me seeps --
it's universal and it keeps

flowing in and out between
places I have never been
in my mind and in my heart
knowing now I'm at the start

in the middle, at the end,
all together as I send
messages from me to you -
we are one and too we're two
