Truth or Dare
“Truth or dare?” she giggled.
I took a drink. Didn't feel like having to get up and do something. “Dare.”
“Hmm...” Tapping her chin with a finger. “What do you want more than anything?”
I looked at her. Didn't respond. She smiled coyly, shifting her weight forwards on her knees. This wasn't even a gambit to her; of course, I would come around. I thought about it, took another drink.
It usually didn't take this long for anyone to answer her. Probably no time at all. “What do you want more than anything?” she repeated.
“I want my dreams to come back. I wish to dream again.”
“But only in their dreams can men be truly free. 'Twas always thus, and always thus will be.”
