You're Always Okay
One morning she said, "You're always okay."
That struck me as being too simplified
But I repeated the words throughout the day
My confidence grew with each thing I tried
I knew imperfection was a human flaw
That I would never measure to a god
Unlike the natural beauty I saw
Could I accept myself with a nod
Her faith in me was a subtle bow
It released an inhibition
Each day I approach my new self now
Just being okay, my true mission
That struck me as being too simplified
But I repeated the words throughout the day
My confidence grew with each thing I tried
I knew imperfection was a human flaw
That I would never measure to a god
Unlike the natural beauty I saw
Could I accept myself with a nod
Her faith in me was a subtle bow
It released an inhibition
Each day I approach my new self now
Just being okay, my true mission
