High School Now
In this place,
We call our world-
News is everything,
Those gossiped truths,
That mean nothing at all.
Its love or hate,
At a constant pull.
Right here, right now,
Never then, never later-
Living in the moment,
This world of ours,
Running circles,
Like cracked up chickens-
Pecking at our peers.
Or unknown,
For there is another side,
To this big world.
In the hundreds of thousands,
Behind walls, desks and books-
Scarring time with our dreams,
hopes, gossiped truths and lovely lies-
Living in our world.
It crumbles to society,
Eventually to be forgoten.
Even so-
Isn't this the now.
