Eugene Jackson

Cross the river stealthily but quickly
Throw the grenade to your very death
Watch It explode just as your face did when you ran in
Look at the light as your life passes by
Watch the flame move back and forth from life to death- and back
Can you see it flicking as fast as your slowing heartbeat

Watch yourself choke as you travel on to an all but forgotten death
Taste the blood that brings death to your collapsing throat
The room is silenced as you leave us just as alone  as we were when we had started
Enter a vague existence that nobody knows of, but everybody predicts
