Fault Line
Unfathomable darkness,
unyielding pain
hurry to shore up the dam
toil away in vain.
Boundless pain
endless regret,
fate marked me for doom
from the moment our eyes met.
Planets stray from their orbits,
stars fall from the sky....
chaos follows in our wake,
destruction IS you and I.
You are a raging ocean
I am immovable land,
water and rock colliding
both pulverized to sand.

Conflict and opposing forces don't always have to be negative or cause destruction, however. I've had a relationship where our 2 strong personalities created good conflict. The tension and tumult challenged us to grow or adapt and pushed each of us beyond our boundaries. And, using the chaos we created, we built something beautiful. It kept us from stagnation.
