Memories

memories, they come, they leave
they fall like snow at night
sparkling in the morning
in a golden light

of anticipation, hopes and dreams
jostling to replace
what was, has gone, will not return...
the future we must face

what is will be what will become
memories that fade
only now where all is one
everything is made

thoughts and feelings take us back
aromas transmutate
whiffs of memories drift by
as we meditate

remembering we must let go
of what was before
we learnt there is another way...
becoming less is more

memories, they come, they leave
they fall like snow at night
melting in the atmosphere
of consciousness in flight
