Brainstorming

A war from within
Doesn’t tend to choose its battles
There is no pacifism between heart and head
A skull is sturdy, but a heart will thump until the end

The war doesn’t start with blood
It sneaks up in the night
With tossing and turning
It’s the beat of a drum
Behind the chest
What tricksters they are!
Disguised as love and ideas
The body no longer a body
But a battleship
For the cannons to fire

A war beneath skin
Progresses in brainstorming
Putting restless to use
The mind does not know fair
And the heart is blind
The war is nearly done

Can you hear those nails pounding?
Silhouettes crying?
Feel the stone above
It is won.
