Envelopes and Letters
In this age of Instant Messaging,
I find myself dreading for the thoughtful
and patient exchange of words.
The joy of opening the envelope and
feeling and moving your fingers on the inscribed words.
Reading letters was a joy as it was a long, deep, and
emotive exchange of words and experience.
The words move too fast nowadays to be felt.
We are in the mode of replying, but rarely saying something.
Words do come out, but somehow they lack meaning, intent.
And the sense of having to say something,
when I do not know what to say, makes me feel empty
I understand the need of technical advancements and
I fully encourage it. I just long for more meaningful exchange of words.
