Cupid's last stand

My alarm clock screams.
And on his calander, surrounded
By the color of love,
Pinks, whites, and incredible reds,
A certain day in February,
Is circled in red,with
Little hearts placed by.
The 14th, Valentines day.
The God of love smiles
And looks at it with
Brilliantly life filled eyes.

But there I am,
Glaring at my calander,
Surrounded by blacks
And greys, while being
Cloaked in black myself,
The 14th, has been torn at
With a knife, with a drop or
Two of blood next to it.
We clearly have different point
Of veiws for this holiday.
I look out the window, acrossed
My dreaded yard,
To see bright colors, and hearts around
The house. I calmly walk over
To my black hole
I consider my room to prepare.

He dances around,
I let my eyes wander to
A sad looking sock monkey..
He gets out his poison,
Cleverly labled LOVE,
And douses those horrid
Arrows with it.
I drowned my black sharp
Arrows in my poison called
BLOOD & BROKEN HEARTS.

He flies out grasping his bow,
Arrows attatched to his back,
Love in his eyes that hide
His determinedness.
I simply stand, in the darkness
Patiently waiting for his
Estimated time of arrival.
He is late, so why not meet him half way?
He sees what he thinks is horrid.
The girl all in black, surrounded
By her darkness and evil creatures.
It's one hell of a chase,
He flies as fast as his wings
Will carry him, but
He knows it's no use.

He stops to shoot his poisoned arrow
At me, but it was a failed
Attempt. He is surrounded
By darkness, and
He know's I've caught him.
He covers his head,
As I aim my arrow.
A evil grin
Crawls acrossed My face.
And I didn't miss when I shot it.
He falls. "Sorry Cupid,
I look forward to tomorrow, Feb. 15th,
When all chocolate is marked down."
I say... Then add, " Happy Violentines Day"
With a wink, I simply walk away,
To await the battle for next year.
