from ground to the sky

and we don't know why

from Earth they have left
on Mars to be found
where pyramids have crumbled
now we live underground...

traveling the surface
on a cold Martian day
to reprogram robots
in what they relay

move overhead
keeping track of approaching
things that we dread

signals when sent
from probes back to Earth
are rearranged to appear
there's nothing of worth...
