Sometimes Awakening

 
Sometimes I awaken
body sensing instinctively
something amiss
felt departure from rightful station

drifted
no longer entwined
slumber rendering asunder
our tangled love tethers

foot reaching out
across infinite expanse
finds calf
hooks

as hand encircles
freshly-shorn crown
gentle outpour
of night love descending


synchronized out breath
anoints sacred homecoming
reunited as one
we orbit together again.
