when i first saw you
no one sees what i see
no one sees me
i see you, you don't see me
i've mastered the art of invisibility
i want to become what i want to be
the first time i saw you it was half past three
i saw you reading a book under the oak tree
the next time i saw you was by the sea
you were sitting there, sad, with your left hand on your knee
lastly i saw you in the field, coexisting with a bee
but then you looked my way, and i had to flee
every time i think of you i'm filled with glee
nonetheless, i can't hold onto you, i must set you free
this one-sided love isn't good, there's no guarantee
i know if you knew who i was you'd agree
goodbye marie.
