Cavalry to Calvary

the hate mob
meant to rob
the Holy Lord
with spear and sword
the cavalry
to Calvary
did the job
though the sob
of a Righteous King
came to foil the sting
of the evil
of the devil

clothed in shame
Holy Name
by men brought low
to their own woe
the cavalry
to Calvary
knew not why
He should die
but He knew the cause
of this Sovereign Pause
was the face
of God's Grace

cruel cross
whose the loss
of blood spilled here
when Love laid bare
the cavalry
to Calvary?
human kill
Sovereign Will
for He bore the pain
so the world may gain
from death's knife
Endless Life
