Gaslight
You ask for the truth
to help me believe
what I said
is not what your heard
and bend the words I speak
as if I can’t hear what I say.
You take my bricks of pain
after you tear down the walls
of suffering I’ve endured
but twist the story to fit your own
by building a fence
around your needs
And the truth is being gaslit
may be better than being on fire
but at least I can smell the fumes
of your deception
and survive this burn
to help me believe
what I said
is not what your heard
and bend the words I speak
as if I can’t hear what I say.
You take my bricks of pain
after you tear down the walls
of suffering I’ve endured
but twist the story to fit your own
by building a fence
around your needs
And the truth is being gaslit
may be better than being on fire
but at least I can smell the fumes
of your deception
and survive this burn
