No Goodbye

They call me Ernie
I guess that's my name
I think they're talking to me
Sorry my mind plays a game

I'm sitting here dying
And I don't even know
My loved ones praying
They don't want me to go

The love of my life
Is Darlene my wife
She gives me hugs and kisses
Tells me this is what she misses

My heart has a lot to say
Even if my mouth won't make a sound
My mind is foggy, or maybe just a cloud

I am a Marine
My boys, we were a team
We went over seas
Uncle Sam we tried to please

As I pray to GOD
My heart is full of love
Know my love for you is the same
Even if I don't know your name

I'm waiting for GOD to take me
My soul will fly free
Please don't say sorry
Or give a worry

My brain is gone
But my heart pounds on
I'll watch over you
Our love still feels brand new

No need to wave goodbye
For one day , I'll see you
And say HI
