Overboard

I jumped in a river
and got carried to sea
the water was calm, but now the waves crash over me
there's no use in swimming
the currents too strong
so I float in the water
asking myself where I went wrong

maybe I fell overboard
went straight off the edge
and someone's out there looking for me
there's somewhere I belong

but all I see is ocean
and no one's coming to rescue me

days are endless like the deep blue sea
maybe I have been set free

I never thought I had a choice
at night I think I hear your voice
at times I think i'm sinking down

I never do I never drown
