You know you left a shine.
I wonder about, so many things in life
Like a hunger to a never ending slice
With every new day, comes perspective
Break away from the thoughts of collective
In each and every person lies a story
To ourselves we teach on how we journey
Never did someone fail to achieve when trying
As long as you believe, there is no defying
People suffer greatly behind our built walls
So we just keep building until a day it falls
We live in a place that’s deeply conflicted
Age, gender and race equally are all affected
I look to the stars and wonder what’s out there
Living a life on Mars or if a planet’s spare
Some of the best in life leave us early
Like a pain in the chest
And a few pages to the journey
In the beginning as time was written
Before there was a world or when it was spinning
We venture alone or sometimes together
But we’ll always return home
When times are better
I write because it takes me to a place
That's close to home
When I feel there’s no more fight
I find my place inside a zone
We look into the eye’s of passing strangers
On a daily basis
We share the same skies , occasionally a loving kiss
In the night, you can see stars in every direction
If there was anything in life
That was close to perfection
Born on earth we celebrate our birth
And every year after
Many ask to what’s our purpose
Some with fear and laughter
The only thing that’s true
Is how you spend this time
So when you pass on through
You know you left a shine.
Like a hunger to a never ending slice
With every new day, comes perspective
Break away from the thoughts of collective
In each and every person lies a story
To ourselves we teach on how we journey
Never did someone fail to achieve when trying
