The meaning of spring

Winters frigid hands, loosing grasp
its blankets slip from the naked earth
kissed now by the wriggle of the asp
that slithers and glides, bare its fangs

As sap will rise in trunk and limb
budding like a training bra, enhanced
bosoms fill the cup to win
to register a second glance

 Growing pains as beauty pouts
shows promise, like dappled leaves that glint
and in precociousness it shouts
the spark will stamp upon youths mint

It's bud not stay all tightly coiled
dark clouds clear to inklings
and each to rise with nature oiled
pollen and the seed soon following

Persephone, how cast her verdant mantel
the fountain head alive and kicking
light a candle each lad and lass
contorted forms as they grunt and gasp
