at the glistening notes, slappin' and gliding
upon the sliding songbirds of past life and youth

You write too many lines in a row, the audience loses interest. That is why so many songs have a monotonous chorus to bore us and to repeat itself. I am not a musician. Keep repeating what I say with a repetitive group of simple guitar chords ,
