Image for the poem Beauty Fleeting

Beauty Fleeting

Smiling into the camera lens
Their curves caught in the light
I’m sure they had their love affairs
Days both happy and bright

Let us pause to keep in mind
Their lights are no longer here
They paid their debts to time and age
Their loves all disappeared

They're bones now deep within the earth
Or ashes in an urn
So, when it’s time for fucking
Be sure to take your turn

Since beauty is so fleeting
And should certainly be enjoyed
Let’s burn our lights bright tonight
And capture with a Polaroid
