Purpose

Believing I am sent to this world to save
Not to condemn
Being born in America yet my heart beats to a reggae rhythm
Breaking the seal of my mother’s wound and began to frown
Focused on all who surrounded me and was prepared for a few rounds
Heard this life was wicked and sinful so I tried to reverse
Pulled out by the doctor who was assisted by the nurse
Named Bruce Daley but heard Black Dove first
It felt strange not to see my feathers to embracing this ebony complexion
As a cord attached to my mother and I, rooting our connection
Before this life, I flew in and out of heaven distributing His message
“The Bible is half-way written for it is their hearts that shall fulfill My book.
Key for upward passage.”
Unseen to man for I am Spirit
Being sent to earth to fully embody man I had to commit
For He has special plans for me
My number called so my turn came up
Spiritually immortal but once born in bodily form
Day by day my body sips from death’s cup
Never questioned Him for His actions need no explanation
My physical birth has its reason
