To My Companion:
To my companion:
When I’m sinking in the world’s filth,
can I count on you to rescue me;
pull me out from the deep end,
and snap me back to reality?
Please, stand by my side.
We can fight for the right to be ourselves.
If I was left with nothing,
would you show me faith to rise above poverty?
Give me the drive that I need.
I'll accept the hardship of the situation,
as long as I can become a stronger man.
To my companion:
Let me know if I can count on you,
when my hands are bloody with doubt.
On those days i'm not feeling quite myself,
just let me know this monster will die,
and I’ll try,
to save you from your demons as well.
There could come a time,
I completely lose my mind.
I might do things that don't seem normal.
Will you be the one to take care of me;
understanding what this world has done,
and never feeling the need to judge?
To my companion:
Someday “us” could fade,
and on that day will I stop being special?
If I lose you to all these everyday strains,
will life still have meaning?
I hope I never have to find out.
I guess anything could happen.
People break up all the time.
If we do, can we meet up when we’re older?
Even if only to keep each other company.
Holding hands on our final days.
Guess I always could die a loner.
If I do, know it's you I'll always want.
