Unconditional love started the moment
I found out about you
Through all the trials and tribulations
of growing up
I tried to raise you differently than I
To not be afraid to trust
or be yourself
to build castles in the sand
I think I failed, or
perhaps exceeded
For as you have grown,

Like the ocean steals the sand
with each roll of the waves
Your lies and deceit
Wear holes in my heart
