signs that are missed
they say kids don't go through depression
what do you call when you spend time with the lights off
always spending time alone doesn't play outside
their life could be rough
they can have cable and video games
all the money in the world or material things doesn't matter
depression doesn't care i know this is strange
some eat their feels and get fatter
we might not tell you
because we are afraid that you won't understand
you might be angry when you question us i know that's not cool
we are screaming for help wish we could grab your hand

i was speaking in general about kids who go through this during like your high school days and how adults or parents miss the signs

I know those feelings all too well. I wasn't able to tell my parents what I was going through or how I felt. They didn't figure it out for a long time either.
This is a good reminder that children feel depression as well.

exaclty i wish there would have been someone who spoke about this when I was younger a lot people think kids don't get depressed but they do

I'm so sorry to hear you felt that way too... It's difficult to voice your feelings when you are a child so it can cause long term damage as well. So, I hope those feelings aren't causing you pain today.

thanks so much i usually get my ideas for my poems by listening to music and the song reminded me of my high school days and thought probably a lot of kids go through this too
