Jealous of the Jones

Sitting at my dining room window
Looking at the neighbor's yard
I try not to be jealous
But boy are they making it hard
They put in a pool last month
And she's laying out in the sun
Looks like she's been working out
Looks like she's having fun

Chorus::
I'm jealous of the Jones again
I'm jealous of everything they do
They've got everything I dream of
They got that and good looks too
I'm jealous of the Jones again
It's something I try to keep at bay
It seems like they got everything
But maybe it only appears that way

Last week my neighbor came home
Driving a brand new truck
My old jalopy might start today
If I've got any luck
He bought his wife a new car
Only the week before
My jealousy reigns inside of me
Green of envy to my very core

Chorus

Last night my neighbor called me
He was sitting in the county jail
He had no one else to help him
Didn't have the money to make bail
Turns out his wife kicked him out
She was sleeping with the guy that cleaned the pool
Here I was jealous of my neighbor
Turns out he was jealous of me too

Chorus
