Feltergone
No rays of sun come creeping here.
The cold sets in your skin.
Hollow, without echo,
Nothing resonates within.
No beauty has the light to shine
No richness in the soil.
No here,
Nor there, water I swear
Won’t even freeze or boil.
Maybe I have spoke too soon
My song too quickly sung
I swear that there’s some type of bird there
Basking in the sun
I go to get a closer look and I’ll be fucking damned
That bird, is just so beautiful it’s more than I can stand.
Sing to me a melody,
by which I’ll be enthralled.
Sing to me a single note.
Sing to me at all.
Trying hard to hear a note, this bird she will not sing.
I make a scene, I yell and scream,
she simply stares at me.
I stomp my feet and curse the day,
she looks at me a certain way
How can this somber silence be,
I know she wants to sing for me.
I know this cause I feel her eyes,
they trace me as I’m passing by.
They taunt me like they long to play.
They track me like I’m wounded prey.
Yet in silence, I remain.
Her beauty hits me like a train.
She is the sun and stars my bird
so what if she’ll not say a word...
The sunlight she was basking in is slowly turning grey, and clouds are looming, gloomily,
She’s going to go away.
I want to see her stretch her wings,
to see her taking flight.
She waits till I am fast asleep and leaves me in the night.
Or maybe it was early day..? I don’t know which is worst. But swear that as she flew away I heard a single chirp.
For I woke up.
Got out of bed.
Rubbed my eyes and scratched my head.
I felt like there was something wrong...
And then I knew that she was gone.
The cold sets in your skin.
Hollow, without echo,
