Lost Inside Myself
On this final road to nowhere, Lost and so alone
Have a good feeling I’ll die if I could reach my destination
Why can’t I just lie down and call this home
Why can’t I just drop this cross I’ve carried for so long
I believe in angels, I saw one just the other day
I begged for her to stay but she just looked the other way
On this barren day, I feel no pulse or emotion hidden
I’m lost inside myself where joy is forbidden
On this silent night, Not a creature to distract fate
This feeling never leaves my side, Like a faithful stone statue
This feeling of hopelessness and the voices never stop
I set my cross down, Climb to the top; I’ve never felt such serenity
The swans have stopped singing
The bells have stopped ringing
The angel abandons her harp
As she walks out of my heart
I believe in angels, I saw one just the other day
I begged for her to stay but she just looked the other way
On this barren day, I feel no pulse or emotion hidden
I’m lost inside myself where joy is forbidden
