Mitigation

Oh if you think you’ve given praise
to women when you say,
perhaps to mitigate, assuage,
the ignorance that's shown
in all your patriarchal hunches,
that they are wiser than
some stupid men,
you need to think again.
 
To have more sense  
than those whose brains
are mush
is hardly something
that’s beyond the ken
of even children set below
the age of ten.
 
So what you’ve done
in saying what you’ve said
is set the bar for wisdom down so low
you’ve made all women dunces.
 
And by the way,
your title of this prose in line-breaks piece
doth need, in order to be comprehensible,
a statement on the thing it is
for which the "wiser" are responsible.
