Breaking The Chains
You can
Look at me
Still you won't see
The pain that
Is inside of me
It's not my fault
No, I'm not to blame
for one man's
sadistic games
I won't
point a finger
at this stage
of the game
for compassion
has replaced
my former rage
perhaps it was
only prearranged
Like mother
like daughter
it all feels the same
When no one is left
to carry on
the family's name
it's a shame
the sins of the fathers
are passed down
to their sons
In the end
no one escapes
the familial pain
unless one has
the courage
to break the chains
it all will happen
again and again
Look at me
Still you won't see
The pain that
Is inside of me
It's not my fault
No, I'm not to blame
for one man's
sadistic games
I won't
point a finger
at this stage
of the game
for compassion
has replaced
my former rage
perhaps it was
only prearranged
Like mother
like daughter
it all feels the same
When no one is left
to carry on
the family's name
it's a shame
the sins of the fathers
are passed down
to their sons
In the end
no one escapes
the familial pain
unless one has
the courage
to break the chains
it all will happen
again and again
