Slip Away
I simply must be a priority for you
And you should be smart enough to know that
Because I won't suffer being taken for granted
Nor being treated like an after thought
Or an inconvenience

Glad you like it. I figured it would, unfortunately, strike a chord with a few people. Like the saying,"I'd rather be hated than ignored", nobody likes being put on a shelf.

Ya know they are so quiet when put on the shelf. Or u get the ones that you tell them their place and they purposely ignore it just to cause uncomfortableness and havoc. Which one are u?

I don't put people I love on a shelf, I think most people treat people the way they want to be treated, but there's a danger in that. The thing is, relationships take work and regular maintenance. They don't just happen on their own and everyone has needs that must to be met. If you are not familiar with the book, The Five Love Languages by Dr. Gary Chapman I highly recommend you get a copy. You can probably find a cheap used copy on Amazon. It will tell you what makes you feel loved which is very important to know. Then you can tell your significant other what your "love language" is so they know how to have a successful relationship with you. The 5 love languages are: Physical touch, gift giving, act of kindness, quality time, and words of affirmation. The book is an easy read & there's a quiz at the end that will determine, based on how you answer the questions, what your love language is.
