When We Say Goodbye
When we say goodbye,
Will the world be old again?
Shed a tear that seeks a lullaby,
Like a love that’s never been.
Under clouds, the sun is dying
With your voice in the snow.
Above the ground, the dead are crying
While we grow silent in our woe.
In the wind, feathers float and flow.
The songs of birds speak a single word—
As if for a reason long ago:
The loudest whisper I have heard.
There in that voice, you reach for me.
We now share a silken veil.
Through our tears we now can see
The ending of the tale.
And we greet each other in cloudless skies,
Our tears speak words only we can know.
There is aurora in your eyes
And your heart in mine shines aglow.
