Night Prowls
Occasionally at night a prowling I go
Things I search by moonlight
Looking for anything that glows
Searching treasures that come to sight
Half the night spent dumpster diving
Other times strolling around storefront lots
Cautious of the vehicles folks driving
Picking up money that I spot
Occasionally a customer gives me a buck
Other times I'm offered a cigarette
But most times I don't have any luck
Those are times I'd like to forget

Resonating thoughts seems to come to my own mind of a time not forgotten nor lost within the turmoil of my own experiences prowling around in the underbelly of lost souls within the dead of the night yet reminding me of how far I have come to now 🙏 respect brother poet
