paradise
writ out in blood
on a postcard from hell
or perhaps it's paradise
where i propose
to take you in
along with the sea breeze
and the sunburnt summer
no quarter falling
no falter strumming,
no dime
dimmed
amid the sentences
of disparity
drown out in depths
of prosperity
a life leashed
to something that breathes
my fire, my brimstone
drugged into the openness
of your corpse
imbibed in all that is left
of me
before I die
so we can live
on a postcard from hell
or perhaps it's paradise
where i propose
to take you in
along with the sea breeze
and the sunburnt summer
no quarter falling
no falter strumming,
no dime
dimmed
amid the sentences
of disparity
drown out in depths
of prosperity
a life leashed
to something that breathes
my fire, my brimstone
drugged into the openness
of your corpse
imbibed in all that is left
of me
before I die
so we can live
