Lead by example, that much was true,
Do as you say, not as you do,
But there's no evidence of what you've done,
Only the shadow of who you've become.
Dwell no more over grief-stricken tears spilt,
Never an ounce of remorse or guilt,
But when all you've got is what you've said and done,
A room full of nothingness - everything's gone.
Divine intervention won't save us now,
If it could be undone, I wouldn't know how,
Your children now grown and grandchildren unknown,
Skin of my teeth as my heart turns to stone.
Do as you say, not as you do,
But there's no evidence of what you've done,
Only the shadow of who you've become.
Dwell no more over grief-stricken tears spilt,
Never an ounce of remorse or guilt,
But when all you've got is what you've said and done,
A room full of nothingness - everything's gone.
Divine intervention won't save us now,
If it could be undone, I wouldn't know how,
Your children now grown and grandchildren unknown,
Skin of my teeth as my heart turns to stone.
