A Poem to be Worthy

A poem to be worthy
Of those that read the verse
Needs to stir emotions
With love the soul immerse.

It should merge one in the Lord -
Then dream to see His face
Within the consciousness of the soul
That's become pure and chaste.

It should make the eyes go misty
With many tears accrue -
Give the heart a pain of longing
For the Lords most mystic view.

It should give a wider meaning,
Change hearts from war to peace
With a desire of forgiveness
To everyone that love can reach.

The poem should pursue
A vegetarian way of life
So the lesser conscious population
Be free of pain and strife.

To love your neighbor as your own
The poem should engage
The truths as taught by Jesus
But forgotten through the age.
