The Mirror
When I look in the mirror
I'm not who I see
I no longer know
who I used to be
This stranger stares back
with a cold empty look
like she can read me
as if I were a book
Even when I turn away
I feel her hardened stare
and the bottomless sadness
that I can no longer bare
Then I fall to the floor
and the tears roll free
Because the ghost in the mirror
has always been me...
I'm not who I see
I no longer know
who I used to be
This stranger stares back
with a cold empty look
like she can read me
as if I were a book
Even when I turn away
I feel her hardened stare
and the bottomless sadness
that I can no longer bare
Then I fall to the floor
and the tears roll free
Because the ghost in the mirror
has always been me...
